Jobs really hates buttons so I doubt somebody will talk him into adding 35 of them. It seems to me like they are really only expecting people to use it as an email reading device. The H/W features of the iPhone (GPS, Memory) were a great add, but adding the 3G ahead of the limited battery capability was a trade-off to be first to market.
