Last night I clumsily knocked my camera and lens off the table. Granted, it was my stupid mistake but I am much relieved that I only have to replace the $40 Hoya filter, which sacrificed its life for my $600 70-200 L F4. And yes, I do have a hood, but it was reversed on the lens for storage, having just come out of the bag. I would have used B&H, but their shopping cart got all confused, and I couldn't get it to start again, Amazon worked well. Price was about the same.
