The NPD data is based on sales versus installed base, as best I can read it. Hence, there are still many more iPhones and touches out there (both of which run our app) than iPhones.

http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/home/pe...

Eventually we will do a port onto an Android device. I don't have a date.

Android US Market Share Rises To 28%, Surpassing IPhone's

http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-20100510-71...

Still so sure? you shouldn't be. I believe phanfare is an awesome product, no question about that, but dismissing Android at this point is very downright silly. AND this doesn't count the HTC Incredible which is extremely HOT or the upcoming EVO!

In our winter survey we asked our customers what improvements they would like to see in Phanfare. 4% cited Android support. 5% cited better blackberry support. Meanwhile, 21% of our customers tell us that the iPhone support is one of the reasons that they recommend us. Add to that the fragmentation that is going on with Android (there are 11 handsets we would need to target?) and you can see why it may not happen soon.

If Apple offers the iPhone on the Verizon network, Android will stall in the US market. You'll see.

I see from you Facebook page that "Sorry we have nothing better to report on the android front."

Well my friends, you might want to get on that soon. As I'm sure you are aware the growth in Android is far exceeding most peoples expectation, even your 5 years mark may come much quicker. I don't think Phanfare wants to be the one to 'leave the door open' to Picasa or others after all.

While we understand the need to enforce standards and keep the platform stable, there is no doubt that Apple has failed to provide alternative methods that work as well as the ones developed by third parties, like ourselves.

You should also consider the Palm Pre (or webOS) for a client. Shouldnt be very difficult to port your client since the webOS is supposed to be completely web friendly

I too look forward to an Android version for Phanfare! I have owned a G1 since it launched, and have recently purchased the Droid from Verizon. I love the platform! The issues you are having with Apple, & the iphone is exactly why I refused to buy one! Android is the answer...
