Finally! This is a feature that I have been asking for, for quite some time, so I'm delighted that I will now be able to sell photo's. I was going to start my professional site on Smugmug just for this feature, but will stick with Phanfare now. I'll be upgrading to Pro right away.

So very excited about this i have been hoping and waiting for this!! Andrew well done, you guys listen so close to your customers it makes a huge difference and I use a bunch of companies for hosting and other stuff the customer service at Phanefare is unmatched.

Since you are so willing to make adjustments it would be of great value to be able to have the option to offer at least a second pricing option. Even if that 2nd option is at 0% profit to myself. I would love to create a unique price scale for each album that being said if i could at leas have a second option or there is a second options for “At Cost” being that there is no mark up. At times I would like to offer prints to family form family functions and what not but dont want them to pay my professional prices. Hope this makes sense.

What you are saying does make sense. We are listening carefully to all of
you to figure out how to enhance the functionality in the next release. The
way we would implement this is probably to offer pricing on a per album
basis. Hence, if you took photos of family, you could specify that the album
has no markup. A further refinement would be to offer pricing on a per image
basis. We have not heard a lot of desire for that yet.

In about a month, we will survey everyone who signed up for selling and see
what they most want and combine that with what we are hearing through our
other feedback channels (blogs, facebook, twitter, forums, support)

  • mahimatt

Yes the pricing per album, I do not have a need personally for by image pricing.

Check one box for, Pro Pricing Check another for “at cost pricing”

I will keep my eyes out for the survey.

Cool! Question? So say your calender is $30. If we charge $35, we will make 85% of the $5 difference only correct? 2nd, am I reading that correctly? You will only send out the checks when our account exceeds $500? What if that takes 1year to reach? Thanks!

  • http://blog.phanfare.com erlichson

Yes, you earn 85% of the markup that you set. We keep Phanfare retail plus
    15%.

You can request a check at any time during the month via the merchant sales
page and we will include you in the next batch, regardless of what the
    balance is.

Okay, this is pretty awesome. I'm only an amateur photographer myself (you know, there's the dream….), but it's good to know that there's a service like this out there now. Score.

I'm loving it too. The pricing per album is good as long as you don't have to reset prices each time you make a album. I'm hoping you can do thing better with the custom croping for the customer. That may save a lot of problems with cutting off parts of the photo that they want in the photo. I would also like to know if I can have more then one Cname. I would like to know the best way to keep my sports and wedding separate. I have two web address. I need to set something up just for wedding

What lab do you use to process photos?

  • http://blog.phanfare.com erlichson

For prints, we use a national consumer lab with very good auto color
correction. What they don't offer is pro paper (Endura) or a color managed
process (they won't provide an ICC profile.)

Books and gifts come from other national labs. We think you will like the
quality of the products. Try them.
